Dr. Kevin Heitfeld serves as the Director of Innovation & Applied Sciences at MANE Flavors, in Lebanon, OH. With a decade-long tenure at MANE, Dr. Heitfeld has steered pioneering research, development, and commercialization initiatives in Flavor Delivery & Natural Color Technology. His focus has resulted in the conception and implementation of technological solutions tailored for the food, confectionery, and beverage sectors. Dr. Heitfeld's methodology is distinguished by its pragmatic and lucid approach to the chemistry and engineering facets of flavor encapsulation.
Dr. Heitfeld earned his PhD from The University of Cincinnati's Chemical Engineering Department in 2007, delving into the realm of hydrogels for temperature-responsive flavor delivery systems in collaboration with Givaudan Flavors. Since 2012, he has lent his expertise as an advisory board member for the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Cincinnati, furthering the advancement of academia and industry synergy. His technical acumen, particularly in polymers, encompasses the formulation, processing, and characterization of diverse polymer systems.
Beyond his contributions to flavors and food, Dr. Heitfeld displays an expansive portfolio of expertise in polymer formulation and processing, collaborating with prominent entities across consumer products, industrial chemicals, and aerospace domains. His insights continue to catalyze innovation and propel industries forward into new realms of possibility.
